Registration fees include:

  • Registration Number and Age Patch
  • Fees to State LAQ events
  • An achievement book in which the athlete glues in their performance tickets
  • An Association Parents Handbook (one per family)
  • A Centre Handbook (online)
  • An Achievement Award Card to be updated by the athlete
  • Registration to Queensland Little Athletics Association
  • Full accident insurance coverage whilst competing at sanctioned events or training
  • All athletes receive a medal at the end of the season
  • Freebies at the Christmas function and end of season function.

Roster Levy

A refundable roster levy of $50 per family is payable at the time of registration (except if you are registering only tiny tots).  The events each week are run by the parents for the benefit of the children.  As a result we need many parents to help in the running of these events or various other aspects at the meetings. Please note the following conditions apply:

Families who have at least one parent/guardian assisting with the designated tasks ( including spotting, retrieving, setting up and packing up) on most regular meeting nights at The Gap when their child is competing,will be eligible for a full refund of the levy. The committee reserves the right to vary this to ensure all parents are treated equitably.

So that club records of your attendance are noted correctly, please ensure that each Friday night you write your name down on the  sign on sheet that accompanies your child’s age group ( for activities associated with that age group) or at the Registrar’s desk for Event Officials, Timekeeper, Place Judges, setting out and packing up, canteen or barbecue.

Refund Policy:

It is a policy of The Gap Little Athletics that registration fees, once paid, are non-refundable.
Athletes are welcome to rial for up to two weeks.

Age Groups:

To be eligible for registration, children must be turning 5 (under 6) to 16 (under 17) during the calendar year.  However, children who are too young at that time can register as soon as they are 5 years old.  Proof of age (birth certificate) is required at registration or within a few weeks of the start of the season. The Committee reserves the right to cancel registration if a birth certificate is not produced.

Under 6s can compete only at the centre. Under 7s and 8s can compete at Regional Relays, Carnivals and Championships.  Under 9s and older can qualify for state events at Relays and Championships.  Regional participation medals are awarded to all U7 and U8 athletes. 

Tiny Tots:

This program is for three and four year old siblings of registered Little Athletes; but we also accept Tiny Tots without a sibling registered.  There are no times, places or measurements recorded for Tiny Tots.  They will be provided with an achievement book and weekly encouragement tickets.  Tiny tots will receive a registered number and a Tiny Tots arm patch. Uniforms are optional.

PLEASE NOTE:  A parent or guardian for all little athletes  is expected to be present on the oval while the athlete is competing at the centre.
